Welcome - What we do
Our volunteers are well known for the thousands of hours they spend each year ensuring public events are safe. We're also the leading first aid training provider in the UK and the third largest youth organisation.
First aid at events
We've been providing first aid cover at major public events since Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee and we'll be there at the London Olympics.

Our Neighbourhood First Responder volunteers are trained to attend emergency calls received by the ambulance service and provide care until the ambulance arrives.
Transport services
We provide a range of patient transport services, transferring patients to a wide range of non-emergency medical appointments such as admissions to and discharge from hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and other medical facilities.
Young people
More than half of our 44,000 volunteers are under the age of 25. We have a vibrant new programme for our young people.
We're also active in schools teaching children life saving skills.
Emergency response
We respond to all kinds of emergencies, from major emergencies to car accidents, weather incidents and fires.
We train more than 250,000 first aiders every year to cope with first aid emergencies both at work and in the home.
