At St Mungo’s our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.
This post will be based within St Mungo’s complex needs service in Bristol; you will be working at our Longhills hostel which provides level 1 accommodation and housing related support for vulnerable adults with complex needs and/or mental health issues. You will be joining a team dedicated to providing clients with a safe environment in which to build their confidence, promote opportunities for positive change and support their recovery journey and move on.
Your role will involve undertaking key working activities such as referrals/interviews/booking in clients and housing management activities such as finances, resettlement, health and wellbeing. You’ll also assist our clients to develop and care for themselves by providing advice and guidance on personal development and relevant life skills.
To succeed, you should understand the issues faced by clients presenting with complex needs. You should also possess good interpersonal and listening skills in order to be able to establish an effective working relationship with clients. Good numeracy, IT and written communication skills are required, as is the ability to produce accurate and professional reporting and effective support plans. You should also have the ability to be able to identify the most appropriate statutory or voluntary agencies best suited to be able to support the clients’ needs.
Flexibility is required, as you will be working a shift rota that includes Bank holidays.
In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance.
