Case Worker – Mental Health

St Mungo's: Case Worker – Mental Health

At St Mungo’s our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.

Our Men’s Mental Health Crisis House in Central Bristol is a project that supports men with their mental health and other related support needs, in a setting that is staffed 24 hours. The focus of the service is to work collaboratively with clients, supporting them in a safe and supportive environment to develop recovery orientated goals and crisis management plans.

As a Case Worker, you will be responsible for assisting the clients to develop strong support networks within the immediate and wider community; including statutory and other support services in Bristol. While through a whole team approach, you will work to reduce the likelihood or need for hospital admission by developing the clients understanding of recovery. You will also be involved in housing management and health and safety tasks.

To succeed, you should have good communication skills, knowledge and understanding of mental health issues and be able to recognise and respond todifficult or challenging situations. In addition to having the ability to promote and encourage client participation and involvement, you should also have the ability to produce accurate reports and record all assessments and action plans.

Please note that the pattern of work is based on shift rota hours, which will include working some evenings, nights and weekends.
