Contract type: 2 year fixed-term contract

Place of work
Your place of work will be Portland House, Bressenden Place, London, SW1E 5BH. You are required to work at any offices of IPSA, should the address of your workplace change but remain within London Zone 1.

Hours of work
Your hours of work will be 36 per week, excluding lunch breaks. You will be eligible to be considered for flexible working.

Holiday entitlement
The leave year will run from 1 January to 31 December and you will earn paid leave on a pro-rata basis for each month of service. In addition to public holidays, your annual leave entitlement is as follows:

• First full year of service: 25 days
• Your entitlement then increases by one day per year to a maximum of 30 days.
• In addition you will be entitled to 2½ privilege days (to be taken as directed by IPSA management).

For new staff recruited during 2010, a pro-rata leave entitlement will be provided in the period up to 31 December.

If, on leaving IPSA, you have taken more leave than your entitlement, a deduction will be made from your final pay to take account of this.

Pension Scheme
The Parliamentary Standards Act 2009 made provisions for IPSA to fall within the provisions of section 1 of the Superannuation Act 1972 and IPSA is admitted to the Civil Service Pension (CPS) arrangements.

Season Ticket Loans
An interest-free loan for a quarterly travel season ticket is available. Thereafter, a loan will be available for the purchase of an annual ticket or a bicycle. The loan will be recovered by salary deduction over a maximum of twelve months.

Probation Period
Your employment will be subject to a six month probationary period.

Notice period
For this role, the amount of notice to terminate your employment that you are entitled to receive, or required to give, is 12 weeks.

Confidentiality
Upon appointment, you will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement

During the course of your employment, you must not pass on to anyone outside IPSA information which has been acquired by you in the course of your employment and is sensitive or classified confidential or restricted, unless specifically authorised to do so. Any breach of these rules may lead to disciplinary action. If sensitive, classified, confidential or restricted information is disclosed, without specific authority to do so, this could constitute gross misconduct that may lead to dismissal.

Impartiality
All IPSA staff must be, and appear to be, impartial in relation to dealings with Members of Parliament and may be subject to restrictions on participating in political activities. You must obtain IPSA’s permission before engaging in such activity. All actual or potential conflicts of interest must be declared.

Security Clearance
It is a condition of employment with IPSA that all staff have the required level of security clearance. If it proves necessary for your security clearance to be withdrawn, this will render you liable to dismissal. You are required to conform to rules relating to security matters, as may be issued from time to time.
