The Council for World Mission (CWM) is a partnership of 31 Christian churches in mission representing 13 million believers
. The General Secretary (Chief Executive Officer) leads the Council for World Mission's secretariat of 26 staff, based in London, England.As General Secretary, you will report to the Trustees and be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the CWM. You will be responsible for ensuring that all programmes, events and activities undertaken are in accordance with the CWM's vision and mission objectives. Specifically, your role will include governance, committee work, financial overview, policy development and implementation, as well as managing, maintaining and developing mutually supportive global ecumenical and mission partner relationships.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes required
For this influential and broad ranging role, you are likely to have gained experience in a leadership role within a Christian organisation, ecumenical organisation and/or NGO where you will have demonstrated your ability to manage people, finances and projects. Confident communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is your collaborative and consensual approach. In addition to being a practicing Christian, a commitment to Christian mission, ecumenism, equal opportunities and the work of CWM is essential.

Salary: c.£60,000 + Benefits + Expatriate package if appropriate.
Location: London SW1, England
Type of Appointment: This appointment will be offered on the basis of a 5 year contract, renewable once for a further 5 years by mutual agreement, subject to meeting UK Border Agency visa and work permit requirements (as appropriate).
