Vacancy EO (Range 6) Executive Officer based in the Dept of Energy & Climate Change, 3 Whitehall Place
 The JobAs an Executive Officer, you will be a junior manager and may be involved in the following:•    Managing a team or small office.
•    Allocating work to junior staff and helping to train staff.
•    Giving advice to members of the public and/or representatives of organisations.
•    Attending meetings, giving presentations, carrying out research, keeping records and producing reports. 
 Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Essential •    Some line management experience;
•    Be able to work well on your own initiative and as part of a team;
•    The ability to work methodically, accurately and with attention to detail;
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills;
•    Be able to explain complex rules and regulations to people who have no specialist knowledge;
•    Be able to follow clearly defined work procedures;
•    Be able to keep accurate records;
•    Be confident using IT;
•    Be able to meet deadlines; and
•    Be discreet when dealing with confidential information. 

 Desirable•    Some research experience; and
•    An interest in the energy sector or climate change.

The salary scale for EO (Range 6) starts at a minimum of £22,263 to a target rate of £26,003.

Type of Appointment
This appointment is offered on a permanent basis, subject to the completion of a probationary period.
